H'ok, so...
I'm about to say something that may shock and disgust some viewers, so bear with me.
Last week, to my shock and sadness, I discovered that my belly button ring had become infected. I went to the doctor and they recommended I take it out, or if I wanted to leave it in, I should clean it with alcohol wipes... so basically... burn the germs out. Now, I left it in and cleaned the crap out of it, I used alcohol wipes, I went to the piercing place and got the special cleaner from them, I tried everything and yesterday, I decided that it wasn't worth the pain and grossness, and so I'd take it out and if I wanted it done later when it was healed, I'd just go back and get it repierced.
Not grossed out yet? Wait a second...
So, I started the process of taking it out. Process? Well, see because of the infection, touching it made bolts of pain shoot through my body, which in turn caused me to break out in a cold sweat and my whole body would shake. I finally unwound the top of the barbel and tried to ease it out when I realised it was catching on something. Thinking it was just skin, I carefully pulled a little harder... when something green started to pull out with the ring. I got the ring out - very painfully, I might add - and the green thing didn't come off it. It was wound around the part of the ring that had been in my body, and had a longish tail to it. It didn't rub off, didn't break off by hand so... I cut it with scissors. And man, it stank, like I'm talking... major smell. It smelt like something had died. And after my barbel came out... the pus poured out of the hole. Pus was seeping for about an hour after. That was pretty yuck.
So I cleaned my belly button and put the ring aside (after sterilising it). My belly button is still really red and sore, but it's better than it was. The only thing is, now I'm a bit sick coz my immune system was down from trying to fight the infection, and I now have a bit of a cold.
But that's better than a crazy belly button.
