vacation
i had a 5 day vacation, i shall now break it down to the best of my memory.
monday night/tuesday - monday night i went to chelle's after work. chelle made a great dinner. got to sleep in an awesome bed, even better than mine. tuesday chelle brought me to the airport very early. i was almost 2 hours early and the airport was not busy at all. i forgot my gameboy at home but luckily chelle let me borrow hers so i had something to do. my flight wasnt until about 11:00, so around 10:05 i went to get some mcdonalds breakfast. they apparently dont serve breakfast after 10. stupid. went to au bon pain and got a muffin. there was a sign that said "pumpkin muffins $1.69" and another that said "if we dont give you a receipt, your purchase is free." the girl charged me $1.92 and gave me no receipt. after she gave me my change and told me to have a nice day, i asked if i could get my muffin for free, but then she printed out a receipt for me. apparently it was actually $1.79 despite the sign, and there was tax despite the fact that all i bought was a muffin and there should not be tax on food.... anyway, the flight was good, about half an hour late but that was ok. trip from jfk to CT was pretty good, not much traffic. got some good pizza on the way home. played with my brothers and hung out with my parents some. also went to see that movie with matt damon and jack nicholson. the departed? it ruled. except for leonardo dicaprio. should have been edward norton instead.
wednesday - woke up and went to see my sister and my nephews. they are adorable. all the pictures came out blurry because my parents cant really use digital cameras.. saw my aunt lila and brother in law too. ate bertucci's pizza. went back down to my parents house. saw grandma and her boyfriend, brownie. apparently he is from sewickley and used to work in a steel mill. also apparently used to live in east hartford near my dad. small world. my mom made meatballs for the first time in about 20 years. they were good. half turkey half beef. hung out with my brothers more after that. used the dvr and fell asleep. dvrs are fucking awesome.
thursday - woke up and went to mohegan sun (casino) with my dad and brownie. went in with $40, left with $365. awesome. brownie also made $300. my dad didnt do so well. i gave my money to my dad since i owe him a good bit. later got pizza from a third different place. i was supposed to go see the twins again but i wasnt feeling good, so i just spent the rest of the day with my brothers. oh, i also bought time splitters because it was only $4.99 even though i dont have a ps2. played that a lot. that game is awesome. later went back and bought my brothers each a game for their birthdays. after that, went with grandma and brownie to a shoreline seafood restaurant and ate swordfish. saw a clown do magic tricks. some were lame but the one blew my mind. ask me about it in person.
friday - planned on seeing the twins this day but i still didnt feel good. instead i played video games. oh yea, i also hooked up my brothers room so all his shit plays out of his stereo. his setup is better than mine now. also hooked up all the other rooms in the house to make them better than they were. went to eat at king buffet with the family and it was awesome although it didnt agree with my stomach. after that went to target and bought some toys and teething rings for the twins. spent the last night with my family.
saturday - got up, ate pancakes, went to the airport, made it there in record time (like an hour and a half). was there about an hour or so early so i grabbed some chinese food. when i got back to the gate my plane had fucking left 20 minutes early!! they even had my bags, and still didnt wait for me. that plane was supposed to depart at 12:26, but i then had to wait for the next flight which was supposed to depart at 4:35. HOWEVER, it didnt actually depart until about 8:45. that is some fucking shit. didnt get to pgh till 9:45, ate dinner with chelle, then didnt get home till after midnight. kind of ruined the vacation, however it was still very good overall. probably wont be flying delta again any time soon.
my brothers are now old enough that hanging out with them is really, really fun. i wish pittsburgh and CT were the same place. i really dont want to be without either one in my life. kinda sucks a little.
