I have a question.

Which is better...going to a public school or a private one?

Are private ones worth the cost? (i.e. $22,000/yr)  Would it be worth it if I got financial aid for the next two years? (i.e. $13,000).

Well, I went to private school from kindergarten to third grade then switched to public when my school shut down. I can honestly say that I much prefer public school...to me, there seems to be a wider variety of people and that a lot of the kids are much more down to earth. Quite a few kids in private schools are - frankly - rich brats. (Not all of them, of course. Some of my best friends are private school kids.)

HOWEVER, school systems are different for everyone, and I know a lot of nice, intelligent kids who do very well in private schools and also a lot of nice, intelligent kids who do very well in public schools.

So, to put it simply, it all depends on which you think you would prefer in the long run and if you are happy in whatever school you choose.

My opinion? Yes, private schools can look better on a resume, but your success in life has nothing to do with what high school you went to. Nobody would ask someone in their 30s/40s applying for a job what high school they went to and have their answer matter. Another part of my opinion? Save the money for a fantastic college instead, because that can truly matter in the long run.

KAL!!! We've missed you so much! Glad to see you back around, lovey. Oh, and I thought I'd let you know...I'm considering leaving the SBBC. I really need to work my butt off on school this year to be fully prepared to go back to normal school next year. The SBBC is fun, but I'm slowly finding it to be a hassle. Your thoughts?
