Who knew the most meaningful words I heard
from him, were the ones that would hurt me most?
he really loved me, this I was assured.
In such little time we became so close.
But when push came to shove he wasn’t there.
I was left in the dark afraid and alone
I guess he truly didn’t really care
I waited and waited for him to phone.
I then acknowledged that our love had died
after all this time it turned out to be lust.
for a long time I sat alone and cried
I so easily gave him all my trust.
