Finally got my whole system set up for recording mixes off my turntables. Unfortunately my computer is a few rooms away from my setup, so I have to run back and forth, but it works.
Also unfortunate is the buzzing that has developed from my DJ system. Sounds like something isn't grounded. It's not from my turntables, since it happens when they aren't on, so either my mixer is screwed up or the speakers are. Going to have to swap out Dono's old speakers and see what is what. Actually, now that I think about it, I can hear the buzzing sound very clearly through the speakers in my computer room, so maybe it IS the mixer. Hmmmm, troubling.
It was an eye-opener to listen to a little mix that I made last night. To be frank, it kind of sounded like ass. Beatmatching was fine, but I have a variable crossfader, and I think I have it set in a way that doesn't work with what I'm trying to do. I'm going to have to really work on my transitions to get the sound I want.
Went to see Fog City Wrestling in what used to be Sharp Park School in lovely Pacifica. Stereotypical wrestling fans were out in full force. Let's just say.....Salt of the Earth....yup.
Got a copy of BSOD's Last Life EP two days ago. It has Choplifted and Sinistar on it. Great Electro tracks.
