A panic attack
Okay, so I had this weird thing happen. I briefly lost all the skill I had been accumulating on the turntables.
I've been going along, learning how to do it and getting better and better. About two weeks ago, I actually promoted myself to Shitty Club DJ because I put about an hour set together, didn't screw any of it up and had some awesome transitions.
Then it happened. A few days ago, I got on the decks and I just couldn't do it. I screwed up every mix and no matter what I tried, I just couldn't get it together.
This depressed me so much that I didn't touch it for a few days, but yesterday, I got back on. And you know what, I did just fine. Not awesome, but fine. But I still, I keep thinking about what happens if that happens when I finally play for an actual audience. Man, I'd be mortified.
On a related note, what happened to Dancerecords.com? THEY CAN'T BE OUT OF BUSINESS!!!! Their site has been down for days!
