Was just looking around at the UMass website...too much to look at to be honest.
Reminds me that the wall's thickening between me and school...soon I won't be able to hear what's going on in the next room.
Saw the HTM website, campus construction, couldn't bring myself to see the band website. How does everyone else deal with this separation?
On another note, I'm upgrading my computer finally. Here's the lowdown on the new stuff:
- Pentium 4 3.0E processor w/ Prescott instruction set, 3.0 GHz, socket 478
- ASUS P4P800E Deluxe board, 800 MHz front side bus, 8 channel audio, 6 or 8 USB ports, etc.
- 1 GB PC3200 Dual-channel DDR memory
- 16x DVD-ROM
- ATI Radeon x700 Pro 256 MB GDDR3 video card- still have to find someplace to buy this for a good price
- Antec SLK3800B case w/ 400W SmartPower 2.0 supply
It will have balls.
For the Dems & Libs out there, among other left-wingers in the Senate your own MA senators Teddy K(ennedy) and war "hero" John Kerry both voted against drilling for oil in Alaska, a project whose land cost would be but a speck in the great land mass and fruits would give the US a break on rising natural energy costs. This will ensure that we pay increasing prices on gasoline, and most notably at this time of year, heating oil. So when you, the concerned environmentalist, your family, the elderly and poor folks are scraping (or not) together $3 a gallon (or more) on heating oil, thank your boys for this. I'll be sure to drop a line myself.
Speaking of which, this came from Rep. Wasserman Shultz (D) on the 17th of December, thought it was amusing:
"When I go home, I represent a fairly middle class district, working families, not the depths of the poor, working families. When I stand up in town hall meetings, I ask my folks to raise your hand if you have benefited from any of the tax breaks that have been handed down by the Bush administration for the last 6 years. Do you know, maybe one, two hands go up in a roomful of hundreds of people? Who are getting these tax breaks? The Rolls Royce Republicans. That is who are getting these tax breaks. That is what this administration and this leadership is all about, the Rolls Royce Republicans."
The Rolls Royce Republicans? Who are they? Does that party get Rolls Royces for joining? TI wouldn't mind getting one of those. ax cuts are fairly even across the board. The richer get more of a cut proportionally. Do the math in this example:
Person A makes $300,000/year & gets a 5% cut. Gets $15,000 back from Uncle Sam.
Person B makes $40,000/year & gets a 5% cut. Gets $2000 back. Nothing wrong with that...unless you're communist.
Shultz again later on in the session, talking about drilling for oil: "We have got to stop thinking about the special interests before we think about the average American because that is really what it boils down to..."
I have to get up at 7 to go and distribute paychecks to my employees in the morning for all of an hour. Lame...gives me an excuse to go drive to and hustle CompUSA for a raincheck on the video card I want. That, and to get some First Night buttons...if all those in our party wish to go there on New Year's Eve.
Haven't forgotten about you Ryan...hope you're doing well bro.
Peace.
