1. Of all the bands/artists in your cd/record collection, which one do you own the most albums by?
--definitely sonic youth. i don't think any other band i buy a lot of music from has that many albums.
2. What was the last song you listened to (voluntarily)?
--i'm actually not sure. it's quite horrible because since my move and school started i haven't had a single moment to just joyuously listen to music. i guess i have been listening to the new bjork album when i do have time.
3. What's on your record player right now?
--i always take the record off, but i don't even have a lot of records or a good player, at that. it's a tan, brown, + orange fisher price portable, which is awesome but HIGHLY inefficient.
4. What song would you say sums you up?
--"i just wasn't made for these times" by the beach boys. because i really wasn't.
5. What's your favorite local band?
--herc?? hahaha...smashing pumpkins in '92? seriously, chicago is a shithole for music right now...no good shows EVER, no good venues, all the local bands are stupid rocker/garage bands. yep. SAFETY PIN!!!!
6. What was the last show you attended?
--the wolf eyes/wonic youth show which was amazing. the stage lighting alone blew me away; it was like a time-based capture of the colors and richness of richard prince's nurse cover art. and of course wolf eyes never ceases to take me to landscapes and atmospheres that only exist in the neurological sphere.
7. What was the greatest show you've ever been to?
--probably the aforementioned show...seen a lot of other good bands/shows too but many of them didn't have that overall goodness. openers tend to ruin everything.
8. What's the shittiest band you've ever seen in concert?
--oh boy. i've seen too many.
9. What band do you love musically but hate the members of?
--i like some of the tim kinsella projects but he seems like he'd be a pretentious asshole. i like the first two hole recordings but courtney love is totally effed. the wolfie people are nice but just...weird.
10. What is the most musically involved you have ever been?
--in what sense? i think i'm always musically involved. don't make me go on an art student tangent of talking about how everything is music and that as i type on these keys its music.
11. What show are you looking forward to?
--pixies in november! possibly twice, too. other than that, the concert calendar is quite grim.
12. What is your favorite band shirt?
--both my sonic youth shirts, my erase errata shirt with an owl on it (although i guess they have a MALE singer now so that's the end of their goodness), and of course my neon green wolf eyes shirt. oh! and my really old sky blue weezer shirt that has an adrian tomine drawing on it.
13. What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?
--lee ranaldo, ted leo, bjork, brian wilson, kim gordon, etc..
14. What musician would you like to hump for a day?
--ted leo!!! haha and vincent gallo.

--what does that even MEAN??
16. Sabbath or solo Ozzy?
--never got into any of that. why do all hipster kids like sabbath so much? everyone HATES jimi hendrix, i don't know why, i like him.

--lionel + nicole ritchie airing their dirty laundry on oprah.

--michael bolton from office space.

--i have the new sonic youth DVD, bjork's video collection, ted leo DVD, aaaand...that's it. yes.

--there was this one journey video that my brother found so funny when we were little.

--wes anderson's soundtracks, vincent gallo's stuff, uhm...a clockwork orange. WILLY WONKA AND THE CHCOCLATE FACTORY!!!
27. What was your last musical "phase" before you wisened up?
--very short-lived emo phase in senior year of HS. luckily i didn't get too far into the really shitty stuff, i mainly was into cap'n jazz (who are good anyways) and jets to brazil. the hip hop phase of the summer before college was highly unprecedented and very weird for me. not that i don't enjoy it, but who the fuck was i kidding?
28. What's the crappiest CD/record/etc you've ever bought?
--don't ask me that. there have been a lot over the years.
29. Do you prefer vinyl or CDs?
--i like vinyl for big pictures, but don't have the proper resources for it. CDs and mix tapes. NO MIX CDS!!!
30. All totaled, how much do you spend on music a month?
--definitely not as much as i used to...probably only $20 or nothing if we're going by a per month basis.
