On December 3rd I am going to be running a half marathon to benefit the Victory Junction Gang camp in NC. It's a great cause.
"The Victory Junction Gang Camp is a year round camp that strives to enrich the lives of children ages 7 to 15 with chronic medical conditions or serious medical illnesses. Exciting, fun and empowering experiences at the camp are life-changing and take place in a safe and medically sound environment.
The camp was founded in June of 2004 by Kyle and Pattie Petty, in honor of their son Adam. The camp is surrounded by beautiful hardwood forest in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina on 72 acres donated by Richard and Lynda Petty. The camp operates solely on donations of generous corporations, organizations and individuals.
Creative programming and activities make the experience an unforgettable time for each and every camper. A child enjoys activities at the full size gymnasium, silver theater, arts and crafts centers, marina, water park, horse garage, and of course the Adams' Race Shop. The NASCAR theme is prevalent throughout the camp, exposing the campers to the fun world of NASCAR including sights, sounds and the feel of a true race track!"
I know its a tough time of year for people to give money but I would appreciate it if anyone could donate anything to support me in this. Our money is super tight too but it is so amazing to be able to use something I love (running) to earn money for some kids who have had a tough life. Just think about it.
Thanks!
