Ok, I have to say a least a little something about seeing The Boondock Saints in the theater yesterday!
I am still on such a Boondock induced high. My poor family (who went with me) had to endure my overly enthusiastic anticipation and recap of the movie hours before and after the screening lol I am still bursting into fits of giggle just thing about it *SQUEEE*
I was so lucky when it comes to the audience that was at my screening it was just a huge group of mostly hard core fans (which included a elderly couple around 65) who showed up an hour early to see it. ( there was a BDS poster right when you walked into the door of the theater, it was so funny because you just new who was coming to see the film by the way they just lingered at the poster and pointed with a giddy grin on their face *myself included* everyone was just so excited to be there) there were only a few people who had never seen it and you could here their friends saying things like "Oh my god your just going to love it!", "This is the best fucking movie ever I promise!" and "Jesus the cat explodes it so funny!". Allot of people came in sporting Boondock attire (ME TOO) one guy even cane in wearing a BDS shirt and a black ski mask lol.
I thought the surprise interview at the beginning was a real treat. I just have to wonder were the hell they found the woman who was interviewing T. Duffy. You could tell she didn’t understand the flick and was bothered by Duffy’s cursing lol. Every time the camera would show a close-up of her reaction to Duffy the audience would just laugh LOL. A girl in front of me (along with a few others) said something along the lines of "Where in the hell did the get this broad" lol got to love it.
When the movie started I though I got stuck in the theater with a bunch of uptight people because there were only of few of us clapping, hooting and making fools of ourselves, but thankfully I was proved wrong. When Rocco "exploded" the cat the whole theater burst into laughter and applause! After that everyone just got comfortable, laughed louder, clapped harder, and a few people were even quoting the movie. It was just a complete joy to know so many people enjoy something that you do and to the same obsessive and gleeful degree.
When the movie was closing every one stayed quiet in there seats until the screen went black then all at once every person was on there feet clapping, wooting, and whistling! It was just the best feeling seeing that many people enjoy themselves so much over something as trivial as a movie!
I'm still grinning ear to ear!
