Help! I'm starting a Lj Community.

Hello everyone *waves*

So I'm thinking of starting a community on Lj.  I have never run one before so I wanted to ask for your advice on a few matters.

I am considering starting a "lost and found" type community where members can post information to try to find old friends or family members they have lost contact with over the years.  I got the idea after loosing touch with a good friend of mine from high school.

Do you guys think this is a good idea?

Also I'm posting the Community Rules thus far behind the cut. I would greatly appreciate it if you guys looked over them and let me know what you thought. If they are appropriate, if I should add more, and above all else if this community would be safe.  I know most of the Internet predators frequent MySpace, but you can never be too careful.

Rules:

When posting information about the “missing” individual Please list only the following!

v     First/Middle name

v     Beginning letter of the individual’s last name.

v     Age (no birth dates)

v     Last State lived in

v     Last school attended

v     No more than 3 photos (under Ljcut)

If the individual is under the age of 18 these revised rules apply.

v     Only list First Name and Last initial

v     Do not post exact age

v     Do not name child ‘s school.

v     Do not post a picture of the child. (Vague descriptions are allowed...Hair/Eye color ECT.)

For the safety of the individual you are looking for do not include the following information in any of your posts.

v     Last Name

v     City/Town or area code

v     Mentions of individual’s family (stating their relation to you is fine but only vague references such as “Uncle” “Cousin” ect.)
