I believe I may be predispositioned to a negative attitude because of the way I was raised and the people I've been around but I still have a CHOICE to remain positive.
I believe things go wrong every day to everyone, big or small, and it's how we choose to REACT to it that makes or breaks us.
I believe that some of the best advice I've ever been given is to "choose your battles wisely." Not everything is worth a fight. Some things just need to be LET GO. Blessed are the peacekeepers... for they will be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9.
I believe if you hold a grudge you're only hurting yourself. FORGIVE and MOVE ON.
I believe when I'm miserable, more often than not it's because I CHOOSE to be. Some thoughtless action, reaction, or otherwise stupid choice most likely landed me there. If it truly wasn't my fault than I have a right to be upset, but I don't have the right to be cruel.
I believe that everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. James 1:19
I believe that God uses the painful obstacles we face in life to serve a greater purpose. He uses pain to grow us. If we choose not to learn and remain in the past, well... we're probably in for a lot more pain. Like me, some people are just downright stubborn. But if we allow God to change us through our experiences he will use that experience for His glory when we least expect it.
I believe too many people waste their lives on circumstances they cannot change. The past only has power if allowed. It is what it is. It happened the way it did. There's nothing that can be done to change it. There's no way to relive it. It's the PAST. Keep it there. Forgive if needed. Deal. Learn. Move on.
