I am so relieved that christmas is over. I was dreading it, to be honest. My luck, being what it is, plus downsizing and whatever else, caused me to get laid off this past week. So, with absolutely no money, half the gifts that I needed to have made finished, and a negative wash on life, I think it was pretty easy to dread christmas. But I was pleasently surprised. I helped Dustin with the daunting task of wrapping Cocos many gifts which filled the gas tank after I dropped Ryan off at the airport Wednesday morning, I came home after running a few errands to pack up, and then I hit the road and made it to Sugarloaf in excellent time. I of course, slipped and fell in front of Marys driveway on some hidden ice and had not only a very nice UPS driver stop to make sure I was okay, but some middle-aged man who parked his car and got out of it to help me up concerned with my busted ass, I was just emberassed and I was happy to arrive at Marys and plop my poor self onto her futon for a few hours.  We had a really nice afternoon and then went to her parents for dinner, which was delicious, and I got to see Denny which was awesome. I love the Nolans and was very happy to spend a few hours in their company. We went back to Marys house and got real high, I sewed an entire apron for my grandpa and then we all passed out after exchanging our gifts. Mary got me a straightener which is about a billion times better than the one I have now and it has a curling iron on it which is so rad. She and Alec also got Ryan and I a set of dishes which we needed, and some tupperwares which we needed as well. I was very touched at how thoughtful their gifts were and felt bad that I didn't have more for them, but what can you do. Mary really liked the half-apron that I made for her and once I make those sprinkles this week, she'll love her sprinkle jar, too haha. I gave Alec this little dragon figurine that I painted a few months ago, which he is using as his computer guardian, I am glad that he liked it. I got up christmas morning and Alec was already gone for work, Mary and I smoked a christmas blunt and watched Mickeys Christmas Carol which was a treat seeing as I haven't watched it in years and years, and then I left to go to my parents house.
We had a pretty low-key christmas at home, we all ended up taking a nap and then Cassi and I made dinner for us all (us all being my parents, Cassi and I. Dustin was picking his friend who is in the Marines up from the airport and my grandparents stayed in the city) and then we opened gifts and then I hit the road to go back to the 'Loaf. My parents got me a few pairs of warm socks, some new slippers, and some baking supplies, all of which I had asked for. My Mom also gave me a bunch of cookbooks that were my Nannies, which I was very excited to inherit, and this old typewriter that my uncle came across, which I had told my Mom I wanted like a year ago. So that was really rad, I just need to get a ribbon for it and I'll be well on my way to typing my memoirs and who knows what else. It was really nice seeing them and not feeling any pressure about staying all day, I was just happy to get to see my Mom. She was real tired from getting chemo on Tuesday, so she was just laying around and I was happy to make her a cup of tea and dinner. I got back to SugarLoaf and cleaned Mary and Alecs apartment because I am a nerd and also because they were letting me stay with them and getting me high. I called Catherine and James to see if they wanted to hang out and get high and James of course never called me back but I wasn't surprised. We smoked a bunch of birthday blunts for Mary and I fell asleep and had real crazy dreams all night.
Friday I woke up and got high with Mary for her birthday (again) and then she and Alec had to go see her grandpa in Newburgh, so I packed the car and shipped out, made pretty good time coming home and even stopped for a hotdog. I decided to get off at exit 23 rather than 24 because 23 is a lot closer to my house and I figured that I should start learning new routes home, and I ended up getting lost from the goddamn Mapquest directions, and went about 20 minutes in the wrong direction before I made it home. I unloaded the car and then had to go to the airport to pick Ryan up, and of course the Mapquest directions that I got were wrong so I ended up in Troy when I should have been on Wolf Road. So I was late, poised and ready for a panic attack, but I just sucked it up and got to the airport as fast as I could and picked up Ry. We got dinner and then went to Dustin and Cocos to watch a movie and hang out. Fun.
All in all, a surprisingly good christmas, I really enjoyed having the car to myself and being able to do whatever I wanted, although since it was christmas, most of the people that I wanted to see weren't around, but I was happy to spend some time with Mary for her birthday.

Anyway I need to go get dressed and go to the store so I can bake cookies and make dinner when Ry gets home from playing drums.
More soon, I hope everybodies holidays were excellent!
