csifreak90 They go to dinner at a classy restaurant Lindsay frequents; everyone there knows her name and she seems to fit in perfectly.
Dinner conversation consists of catching up on the days Samantha was out of town. Lindsay tells the woman she was busy working and dog sitting.
“What about you? Any exciting adventures out of state?”
Samantha shrugs and wipes her face with a cloth napkin. “Nope. Sat in my hotel room and watched TV. There’s not a whole lot to do when you travel alone,” she says, sitting back and putting her hands on a full stomach.
Lindsay giggles. “That doesn’t sound exciting at all.”
Samantha pays the bill and walks Lindsay to her car. “I’ve been all over the world in the past 10 years. There’s really nothing to see anymore, and I’d much rather be right here.” She pulls the girl to her by the hand and kisses her softly on the cheek.
“You coming home with me?” Lindsay asks, kissing Samantha’s shoulder.
“Boy, should I bring the U-Haul?” Samantha jokes and opens the girl’s car door for her.
“I thought we were going to play dress up,” Lindsay says, buckling up her seatbelt. Samantha gently shut the door behind her and waits for the window to roll down. “Plus, Cadillac would like to see her mommy.”
Samantha laughs and bends down, resting her arms on the window’s edge. “Right. Let me just make a few stops and I will be right over to see my favourite girls.”
Lindsay grins, starting up the car. She and Samantha share a quick kiss before she drives away.
Pulling her phone from her pocket, Samantha opens the GPS application and searches for a specific location First, she needs to stop and fill up on gas but she happens to know there is a costume shop not too out of way between the restaurant and Lindsay’s. If I have to try on something outrageous, Samantha thinks, so does she.
She waits until Lindsay has driven a safe distance away before getting in her car and turning out of the parking lot. After making a quick stop at the gas station and buying a pack of cigarettes, she follows her GPS’s directions to the front of a downtown boutique.
The costume shops looks a little hokey inside; she feels silly being here in the middle of summer for what seems like a nondescript reason. Despite all this, she grabs several different things from shelves, off mannequins and drops them on the counter.
The cashier looks at her suspiciously. “Masquerade party?” she asks, obnoxiously chewing on a piece of bubble gum. Samantha hands over her credit card.
“Uh, something like that.” She avoids making eye contact, scribbles down her signature and grabs the bag. Walking to her car, she grins to herself. Definitely a party, she thinks - party for two.
Before throwing the large bag full of costumes in the trunk of her, she can’t help but laugh. The things she does to make life interesting.
She pulls up outside of Lindsay’s house. Already she can hear the dogs barking and curses their supersonic hearing. She wanted her arrival to be a surprise.
Lindsay opens the front door and greets Samantha with her large plastic bag.
“I thought you were just kidding about the U-Haul?” the girl asks seriously.
Samantha laughs and sneaks past her and into the house. Setting the bag down against a wall, she crouches and calls Cadillac. The dog waddles to her, tongue wagging, and jumps, landing her front paws on both of Samantha’s knees. She lays a wet kiss on the woman’s face and barks happily.
“I just figured if you’re going to make me wear a dress, I’m going to make you try on something that’s very un-you.”
Lindsay puts both hands on her hips and looks at the woman, trying to hide a grin. “I guess that’s fair.”
Samantha sets the dog gently back on all fours and lifts the bag over her shoulder. She heads toward the girl’s bedroom after removing her shoes, making herself at home. “You’re damn right it’s fair. Now get your butt in here!”
The redhead follows, both Cadillac and Monroe at her heels, nipping at each other playfully.
When she reaches the bedroom, she finds Samantha already stripped down to her bra and underwear, trying to keep her balance on one leg as she rips off a sock. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so excited to undress,” Lindsay says, grinning as she sits down on the edge of her bed.
Samantha sticks out her tongue at the girl and tosses a dirty sock in her direction. “Come on. Take it off!”
Lindsay slowly undresses, neatly folding each piece of clothing as she removes it and setting it on the edge of her bed. Samantha watches her and snickers. “What’s so funny?”
“Nothing. Guess I was just hoping for a strip tease, but that’ll certainly do.”
Lindsay makes a face and runs at Samantha, pushing her into a pile of clean clothing in the closet. They wrestle playfully with each other, both dogs jumping in to defend their respective owners.
Lindsay wiggles her way out of the pile-up and stands. She walks toward the costume bag while Samantha remains laying on the ground petting Caddy and Monroe. “Go ahead. Pick one,” she says to the girl, a sly smirk on her face.
Without looking, Lindsay reaches in and retrieves one of the costumes. Samantha laughs when she sees which one the girl has chosen and watches her face for a reaction.
Lindsay holds the outfit in front of herself to get a better look and her jaw drops. “You’re kidding me, right? I’m not putting this on.”
Samantha moves to a sitting position. She crosses her legs and rests her elbows on her knees. She shakes her head and a wide smile spreads across her face. “Nope, totally serious.”
Lindsay shakes her head and gives Samantha the finger. “Fine. Just wait to see what I’m gonna put you in then.”
