My Way (of watching Movies and Dramas) [That's me #02]

Jun 05, 2011 10:44

I'm sure everyone likes to watch Dramas or Movies. It's nice watching them with friends and discussing them afterwards or during watching. Of course I also do and like that but sometimes it's just annoying - for my friends.
I'm not just watching and talking about the story or characters. I'm also paying attention to other things like "Look! By looking at the color of his room you can see what kind of character he has!" or "Because it's dark and rainy it shows the depressing mood the character is in" or "Did you notice? They all had the same mobile phones again.".
Well, there might be many people who are doing this, so this might not be the most annoying thing about me watching Dramas or Movies. The most annoying thing is that I'm paying TOO much attention to the details. It always happens whenever I'm watching something but especially when it's boring or when I don't like it.

For example:

I was watching the Movie "Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl" and even though the story itself wasn't that bad, the way how they turned it into a film was. But that's not what I wanna talk about (since everyone has his own opinion). In the end there is the Frankstein Girl (which was made out of body parts from different people) and she unscrews one of his arms. Well, since she's Frankenstein Girl it's possible, right? But it's impossible to prevent the unscrewed arm to fall to the floor, since the Girl has just one hand she can use (and in this one she was holding the drill). I'm not asking where on earth she suddenly got the drill from but I'm really wondering how she managed to catch his arm while holding a drill.

Another one:
I'm a big fan of action movies but even if it's not an action movie but romance there might also be scenes where people beat up each other. And watching this always makes me asking myself what these people are using that all these scratches and deep wounds are healing withing one night and they're able to run like the devil himself is after them, while having one or two broken ribs.
Maybe they aren't human?
Are they all a special kind of vampire or something?
Unfortunately, I haven't found the answer yet.

It's not that I'm just wondering about the "How the hell is that possible" kind of scenes, so here's one more example:
When watching Dramas I'm often like "If I would have been in this situation I would have done this and not that" or "Why doesn't he just do it?".
Since I'm sure that many people are like this I'm not going to talk about that. Instead I wanna tell you: Lots of characters in Dramas and Movies (mainly the main cast) are dumb and lack common sense. Why I think so?
Well, let me tell you.
I just finished watching "Boys over Flowers". I like it, even though I already know the story after watching "Hana Yori Dango".
First, the F4 guys, the main character Jan Di and her best Friend Ga Eul went on a weekend trip to an island. Jan Di went swimming and suddenly got a cramp. You can see her trying desperately to keep herself above water. Well, normally you would ask yourself "Who's going to safe her?" while watching this scene. Na~  ... I'm not. I was just wondering why she doesn't swim back to the beach. Okay, she can't use her legs because of the cramp and it hurts but she still has her arms, right?
And even if she's not able to keep herself above water, she can still dive. Since she likes swimming and is good in it, it shouldn't be difficult for her.
That's what I thought but apparently Jan Di didn't think so.
There was another scene after the doctor told her that she can't swim anymore because of her shoulder. The necklace she got from the sometimes-ex-sometimes-boyfriend guy fell into a pool and she jumped into the water to look for it. Of course she needs to swim and dive then and suddenly her shoulder started hurting. What was she doing?
Again the tried to keep herself above water. But why the hell didn't she just swim or dive to the stairs of the pool?
You see - she can't be that smart!
I'm not a doctor so I don't know whether a cramp or a hurting shoulder also affects other parts of the body. If so, then I'm sorry and I apologize to Jan Di. If not ... well ... then she's indead stupid.
A last example using "Boys over Flowers" is the following:
It's raining and Ji Hoo (one of F4) was walking through the streets while his clothes got drenched. He headed home and Jan Di was waiting there for him. He collapsed in front of her and because she's a nice and caring girl she somehow managed to carry him into his bed without taking off his totally wet clothes.
Okay, I have to admit, it might not be easy for her to undress the guy she once loved or just boys in general but seriously: Who said she has to undress him completely?
It would have already been enough to take off his coat - and maybe the shirt as well. Doesn't she know that sleeping in wet clothes after walking through the rain for I-don't-know-how-long during winter isn't really healthy?
Correct me if I'm wrong but she really DOES lack common sense!

Of course it's not just "Boys over Flowers". There are many Dramas and also movies with scenes like that and whenever I see them I can just shake my head.
I'm trying to keep my complaints for myself when I'm with others but sometimes I just can't help it and you might now understand why there are people who get annoyed with me, while watching a nice movie ...
It might be different if the scene would be an important one but I always pay attention to things no one is interested in - well, no one except me. |D

Well then ... let me just end this post for today.
But before that, I wanna ask you something: Did you experience something like that once?
Like watching something and paying attention to unimportant stuff?
Or watching with others who are like that?
Let me know then. :D

that's me, dorama/movie
