Sehun lets out a frustrated sigh as he looks at his unread messages from a certain giant he really doesn’t want to deal with at 6am in the morning. He already knows what Chanyeol’s going to ask him and he really just wants to get that extra 30 minutes of sleep before he has to get ready for school.

Chanyeol has been eyeing some tan dude he’d seen in the bathroom a few weeks ago. Chanyeol had not so blatantly pointed the tan dude out when they were having lunch the other day. It was a wonder how the dude didn’t even realize a thing.
“Oh Kim Kai? He’s from the dance department.” Luhan had obnoxiously said with his mouth full of chili fries. Sehun really doesn’t like Luhan because Chanyeol has been begging Sehun to teach him how to dance ever since.
“Just go talk to him.” Sehun had said with irritation.
“Coooomeeee on why not Sehuna” Chanyeol had continued to whine with his distraught puppy look. Sehun would have said no but how could he resist Chanyeol’s failed attempt at a puppy look because it was honestly ‘too cute for words.’ Not that Sehun had thought so or anything. Definitely not.

Their last lessons of the day had ended. Luhan had generously offered to help book the dance studio for them to use. He then left an obnoxious text to Sehun telling him to ‘have fun.’ He usually ignores the texts Luhan sends but Chanyeol had somehow managed to sneak up on him and read the text too. Sehun's was about to panic until he realizes that 'it's just Chanyeol we're talking about'. True enough, Sehun spends the next hour listening to Chanyeol ramble on about how Luhan is being such a great hyung to what kind of dance do you think kim kai will like.
Not even 15 minutes into teaching Chanyeol how to dance, he deems Chanyeol the worst dancer he’d ever seen. Even worse than Junmyeon hyung. Heck, even Chen had more groove than Chanyeol ever would. He almost felt bad for Chanyeol. Almost.

Chanyeol gives up trying to learn how to dance a week later. Sehun is relieved but of course Luhan decides to tell Chanyeol about how Kim Kai likes 'someone who's funny' and that learning some dance pick-up lines would be a good idea. So Chanyeol learns a whole bunch of pick-up lines he’d found on google and uses Sehun as his test subject. Not that Sehun’s complaining or anything.
They’re in Chanyeol’s bedroom and Sehun is sitting on the bed playing Mario Karts as Chanyeol tries to remember some of the pick-up lines he had memorized.
“Hey Sehun listen to this one. Do you have the time?” Chanyeol says with an over-expectant face as he waits for a reply which doesn’t come. “Sehun you’re supposed to reply me with the time!!!”
“Oh. What. But I don’t know what time is it.” Sehun really doesn’t know what time it is plus he’s too lazy to take out his phone from his pocket and watches are for losers.
Chanyeol just frowns and Sehun feels bad so he humours him and replies with a random time. Sehun watches as Chanyeol brightens up and replies, “No, the time to dance with me?”

2 weeks has past and Sehun still doesn’t understand why Chanyeol learnt all those pick-up lines when he doesn’t even talk to Kim Kai. Sehun also doesn’t understand why Chanyeol likes this Kim Kai dude anyway. There are other dudes way better than Kim Kai who can dance (Sehun), who are tall (also Sehun) and all other things Sehun can’t really think of at the moment.
Luhan on a daily basis now decides to annoy Sehun by telling Chanyeol to forget about the Kim Kai dude and look for ‘other fishes in the sea who are within arm’s reach.’ Chanyeol looks confused as usual and Sehun still does not like Luhan and promptly wonders why he even hangs out with him in the first place.
Luhan sends a wink to Sehun across the table. Sehun visibly scowls as he watches Luhan stand up and ruffle Chanyeol’s hair while mumbling a ‘you’ll understand soon enough my boy’ before picking up his tray and leaving the two alone.
After what seems like forever to Sehun, Chanyeol speaks up. “What do you think Luhan meant by within arm’s reach?”
Sehun simply shrugs and ignores Chanyeol’s question like how he usually does and continues drinking his 8g of fat milk. He watches Chanyeol swing his arms around haphazardly from the corner of his eyes. But then Chanyeol stops moving. Sehun looks up from drinking his carton milk and sees both of Chanyeol’s hands pointing towards him and he’s staring at him with an even more confused look he had on a few minutes ago.
