I've been watching "A Clockwork Orange" throughout the whole day today. I don't know how many of ya'll have seen it... but I wanted to share something that I've just noticed.

Alex sings "Singin' in the Rain" while he is raping the author's wife in the beginning of the movie. When the government people are "conditioning" him, they play a Hitler/Holocaust movie, with the only sound being Beethoven's 9th Symphony playing on the movie reel. Alex freaks out and after he gets out, he is unable to enjoy music, especially his beloved Beethoven. So he can't listen to Beethoven without thinking about violence and thus he feels sick and gets all gaggy and stuff and can't function until it passes.

Later on, when Alex is bathing and "Singin' in the Rain," the author recognizes his voice and figures out that Alex is the man who raped his wife.

And that's when I figured out that I was being "conditioned" by Stanley Kubrick. Yet I wasn't a criminal in a straight jacket with my eyes being held open with metal clamp thingies, injected with serum, and forced to watch this movie. I'm just laying there, on my bed, with my cat, willingly subjecting myself to violent images...and FANTASTIC, MEMORABLE music. I am never going to be able to hear "Singin' in the Rain" and not think of that rape scene. There are a lot of moments in that movie that I will think of (especially the violent parts -- go figure?) when I hear some of the songs off the soundtrack.

You can click here to view the soundtrack list.

Has anything I've written made sense? Good Lord. LoL. I'm looking over it and I'm like, "WTF?" I'm totally distracted....

I AM SEEING "THE DARK KNIGHT" IN T MINUS THREE HOURS AND COUNTING! ZOMGWTFBBQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111
