First, pictures and videos from all around
A sign in the airport. Check out the small print.
And it's instant, too! Everybody loves Chinglish.
Everybody loves laowai too. A tiny dumpling place in Nanjing, we went there twice. People kept staring at us all throughout the meal :)
Every meal is a surprise! :D
Chinese subway has these helpful instructions on how to enter and how to exit the train.
Of the devil.
For all your underground commodity interests. Actually, it's not Chinglish -- the market is really under the ground :D
This man was resting outside of the train station in Nanjing.
Yummy! Appetizer sampler in a fancy restaurant. Actually, it's not too weird, besides the octopus in the middle.
We went on a
Maglev ride in Shanghai. That would be the proof. It's not that cool after all :D
That's a nice sunny day in Shanghai. Don't blame my camera, the sky really is white.
Apologetic sign.
There was that cafe in Nanjing that had a bunch of games. Among them, "love Jenga" -- pull out a block and follow instructions. Way more fun than regular Jenga :D
Making the famous Wu's Fried Meatbuns. They were good!
The part of the road at the bottom is exclusively for scooters/bikes/bicycles. And sometimes people.
To hold water in a Chinese sink you need to turn the plug around with your finger.
The tourist market in Nanjing had that... They didn't have any with Mao, but they sure did with Putin.
Shop owners like to show you around their stores. That's a backroom of one of tourist's stores.
Dr. Honey's class on Chinese culture. I stayed in his house for a couple of days.

On a rare sunny day (i.e. without anything falling from the sky) we went to a
"Buddhist pagoder"
That would be us. I am holding sticks of incense which we were supposed to burn, but didn't cause we're not really Buddhist :) I still have them.
Welcome, welcome to City-17! It's safer here.
Nanjing's tallest skyscraper looks quite like The Citadel. That's the view from the top of the pagoda.
There was a room with all those different alterations(?) of Buddha. Which included this green alien dude.
A worshiper. This is a functioning Buddhist temple, and it has both worshipers and tourists at the same time.
The pagoda is operated by a bunch of women, or so I was told, and they live on the premises. You could only see that from the top of the temple though :)
I've encountered considerable resistance in attempting to take that picture :D
These are probably solar panels.

And on another night we went to a Chinese game show -- a bunch of Americans from Nanjing university regularly participate in this. Lexi got to help one of the participants too :)
An overview. People had a hard time getting there -- for some reasons all taxis were occupied everywhere.
The game show consisted of three 1-on-1 duels and a 1-1-1 finale. The duelers in the first three rounds used external help. This is the first of three duel rounds, where the goal is, of course, to bring beans on your head across a slippery hilly surface.
Before the second round, Alisha is going to need help from Lexi and two guys.
And of course they will all be dressed in baby-suits.
Whereupon the girls will proceed to ride on guys' backs and exchange water in cups without using their hands. I am not making this up. There's a picture! :D
There's deep strategy to this game.
Woot, Alisha's crew carried more water and won!
The loser is forcibly removed from stage by men in black.
Alisha's trophy. She also won like $80 :D
Round three consisted of running on a treadmill putting t-shirts on each other. The treadmill sped up over time, and everyone ended up in a ball pit. There were injuries.
The finale was fun. They had to jump on this trampoline thing and pop each others balloons. Prior to that they had to hold a pose for about 10 minutes so the cameras could get from all angles.
