If any of y'all have $100 or more lying around that you're willing to loan out to me in return for 23% interest over three years, I encourage you to fund my Prosper loan.
I heard about Prosper through a story on NPR. It's a pretty neat concept. In essence, it lets people fund loans for other people, and to let these loans be bid between multiple people, to spread the burden (and the profit from the interest).
I'm trying to consolidate my debt a bit. So, if you lent me any money in the past and feel inclined to fund me in a more official way -- and make a profit doing it -- I encourage you to help fund my loan, even for as little as $100. If you have a bank account, you can set yourself up as a lender real easy, and start getting interest on three-year loans.
Naturally, a service like this has a certain "caveat emptor" factor, but I like to think I've shown myself to be responsible enough in paying back short-term loans, let alone long-term ones where there's an automated mechanism for collecting the interest. Just don't blame me if you have any problems with OTHER Prosper loans. :)
Please spread the word. I hate to resort to e-begging like this, though I feel a little better about it as the people who fund me not only get their money back, but a little extra as well.
Also, feel free to sign up for Prosper and list me as a Friend. This is a free way of making strangers more likely to fund me. ;)
