I went swimming in the morning and played with my sister for a while in
the afternoon since I felt sorry for her (her friend wasn't home
today). She was making a "dessert" (mixture of grass/plants) for the
rabbits, which took longer than 30 min. After I watched FMA, I helped
her a bit. The rabbits finished the food in less than 3 minutes.
It's the last day of vacation, and I watched Fullmetal Alchemist! The
episodes I watched were awesome, and Ed really developed in them.
There's only 3 more episodes left until I finish the series...noooo.
And then I'll watch the movie.
After discovering that failed human transmutations create homunculuses,
I immediately thought that Juliet Douglas was made by Ed and Al. I was
a bit confused about the father though; in the manga when people shot
him, he didn't seem to be hurt. Because of that, I assumed he was a
homonculous, but homonculouses can't have children, but he had Al &
Ed so I didn't know what he
was. It turned out that he was a spirit transfixed on a body through
the use of the Philosopher's Stone. Now I know why Ed's dad always wore
cologne...it's to hide his rotting scent. I was more surprised about
Dante. I thought she died in order to kill Greed, but it turned out
that her spirit went into Lyra's body.
The last episode I watched, ep 48, was an awesome one. Ed
says that he thought he was "grown up" when he became a state alchemist
but he was still a child back then. Now, he grew and finally became an
adult. Even his teacher aknowledges that. Ed realizes that wars will
continue to occur if people seek the Philosopher's Stone because then,
someone desperate will create the stone to revive someone. And because
of that, he'll destroy the stone. I thought that was quite a twist
since you'd think that in the end, Ed/Al would've used the stone to get
their bodies back.
What surprised me just as much was that Roy had stopped trying to be at
the top of the military. He was going to avenge Hughes instead. Ed
didn't go avenge Hughes because he learned that revenge was childish
(since it accomplishes nothing, I guess). I wonder if that means Roy is
being childish...
Compared to FMA, Bleach isn't as good. Bleach has a slow start and too
many characters to develop. Maybe that's why. FMA has so many themes
compared to other animes that there isn't much of a comparison though.
FMA = fav. shounen
FMwS (Full Moon/manga) = fav. shoujo
(they both have initials "FM"!)
