A week-late post yes, but they say better late than never right... ;)
this is already my 3rd 'Celebration for my Graduation'; and i'm loving it heh! amy and i hopped by central after the eveningPM. no prizes for where she went after reading on the sumptuous and fulfilling japanese meal sarah and i recently had hehe. watami(AT)central, here goes!
amy went overboard with ordering i was pretty sure we weren't able to finish everything. look where the mighty backlash from deprivation of normal food due to her weekS long of antibiotics medication has brought her to... seven dishes! special mentions to the grilled squid & in-house softshell crab sushi!
me likes these bamboo-looking utensils, very rustic :)
food was served quickly { too quickly in fact some of them quickly got cold too :( } and service was good, but i thought the food was mediocre only, as compared to ion's. sticky gooey mochi cheese, some mixed platter of yakitori stuff and my grilled squid (i love!). a whole squid grilled to crispy perfection but yet succulent! i finished the squid up myself hah and i like how it was charred just enough and not rubbery. thumbs up :)
exceptional yums! softshell crab sushi packed with lots of filling, definitely not a waste of space in my stomach.
nestled in a comfortable corner with a variety of food before us. abundance you say? :D see i placed my sotong and softshell crab dishes in strategic positions lol! andddd amy all satisfied with her beef sukiyaki. but she don't like the meat she say, too much fat.
absolute <3
we ended up packeting home those items we couldn't finish. (tutsy walloped the whole box the next day) heading home for a restful night's sleep and extremely happy stomachs :) thank you amy for the treat/celebration!

One of the nights my dad brought the whole family out for authentic singaporean fare at the east coast food village (i didn't even know this place existed before that. my mind only stretches to bedok85 and newton hahaha). Pardon the lousy photo quality, took these with my phone camera :)
chicken wings, satay, hokkien mee, oyster omelette and an array of shellfish ('gong gong' and 'lala' i recall) :)
chicken wings- all tender and juicy (must have for me!) you know why only food pictures here? i was busy snatching chicken wings from ming lest everything's eaten up before i know it :D my dad even went to the extent of ordering a second batch of wings! die, my fats frown big time for this :x
my constant craving- shellfish.
