Today was nuts. Actually, lately in general has been nuts. So many orders and so little time. I'm constantly trying to think of ways to bake more and faster in order to attempt to get a few more wholesale customers. I'm thinking of buying another prep table and prep area stuff so there are two wheat stations. This way we can bake at the same time and put twice as much into the oven. That would be much faster!!!
I had a lot of late nights this past week, lots of cakes to bake, Bombers stuff, and dishes galore at close. On a typical night closing alone it takes me anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half to close and leave. I'm pretty fast though so thats a bonus....putting food away, dishes, wiping counters and tables, more dishes, straightening up, vacuum, mop, count money, take trash out and sometimes clean the butthead greasetrap.
Hosted a brunch on Sunday for a baby shower. It went really well. I was super nervous when people started showing up but as soon as I heard "These pancakes are awesome" or "This cinnamon bun is the best I've ever had" I got over it! It was fantastic and everyone was happy, which is really rad considering that the couple having the baby were the only vegans there!
Right now I'm trying to cook dinner, type this, and print more labels for Pangea's order. I'm pretty exhausted and I haven't had a day off in a bit over two weeks I think. I am thinking of closing on Sundays so I can have a real day off, hang out with Lin and family as well. Also thinking of doing brunch two saturdays a month to start. I really need to do my budgeting/finances but haven't had the time because I am constantly doing something else.
It's going really well I think. My mom still needs to finish up financing and putting crap into peachtree so I can see where the business really stands, but it's not in the red!
What else? Oh my butthead car might need some work. There's a small hole in one of the tire axles which could snap if it gets bigger. Technically the bakery owns the car since it had to buy the damn thing because some moron hit mine while it was parked and totaled it last summer. I have the best luck. BUT I would rather get other stuff for the bakery before I fix the car. We'll see.
Time to finish my shepards pie and then eat it!
