Well the plan for the deck garden is tomatoes, a mix of lettuce, chives, oregano, thyme, basil and parsley.

not corn - last year we had a massive colony of sugar ants farming aphids on our corn - fascinating - but also very gross

Sunflowers with morning glories climbing up and between them was a nive flower combo last year -

July's not a bad time to be away - possible to time it post established growth, pre-harvest, and not as dry as August...

We'll do zuccini, summer squash, tomatoes, peas, and beans for sure - want to do some greens, but I think I need those in pots on the patio...lots of herbs (especially basil - we made and froze pesto last summer)

Of course, I still need to turn the whole garden over and buy seeds...

I love sunflowers and I love morning glories... so that's a win. I keep threatening to forget about the veg gardens and turn them into flower beds... maybe this the year I cave.

I am hoping that my dad will bring his loaner-tiller over and take care of turning the garden.

Apples!

I turned my yard into a miniature orchard.

That is something to think about... or pears... for the front yard.

I started planting trees last year, and I've continued this year. I now have five apple trees and two peach trees growing in the front and side yard. Here's hoping I get some edible fruit this year. :)

Grass! LOL (jingsaw says "and maybe some rocks")

I'll be so happy just to see grass growing.
Maybe just maybe a raised bed for zuchini and cucumber and tomato and basil, but mostly I just want to see grass.

we're going to plant asparagus!! "They" say not to pick it the first year-- so that might be good for you!
