Our garden sucked this year. Not enough sun. Not much of our yard does get good sun, and I don't want to sacrifice the noise-softening and privacy that our trees provide to move more sun in. The arbor vitae lining the house side of the stream could be thinned out, and the deciduous trees on the other side would provide privacy and noise-softening during the summer, at least. The flower beds close to the house get lots of sun; maybe I should replace some foundation planting with tomato beds. :)
