returning to life
one of those new years resolutions that i made for myself was to pay off my old credit cards before going back to school. the idea was to get a part-time job doing front-desk work for jackson screwit (former home of the arbor hill payday loan) through tax season. but then they laid off all their seasonal help & certainly weren't hiring anyone :(
so maybe i can get a gig working for peter's restaurant? dishwashing ideally. something to pay my discover bill & maybe even stash away some extra scrip before the jump to grad school.
yup, i'm committed now. i'm going back to potsdam to become a social studies teacher. i'm gonna need to take a psych clep test before then, and adolescent psych & geography, and then it's all grad classes for this summer & a year (maybe i can do adolescent psych & geography in the winterim?) & next summer (and probably one more semester if i can't). becky's looking for houses just outside of town. mandatory minimum: garage, room for a backyard (or frontyard) garden, dishwasher, washer/dryer, maybe a basement, and either a woodstove or natural gas.
time to shake off the torpor of the dungeon, wake my brain back up, and put it to good use.
