When I was out of high school I worked in the advertising production department of a group of weekly newspapers. There was a man who owned a furniture store who had an account and would come up to our department to visit (there were two guys and fourteen women). He was good-looking and all the women loved him.
Well, he ran for parish (county) council here and had served many years. One day about a year before the hurricane, he and another politician knocked on my door campaigning before an election. He introduced himself and I told him I of course remembered him from the advertising department and that I was Glenda's assistant (Glenda was from the English part of Hondurus and kind of hot). I then told him that I was the one, who when I'd left he'd asked if I was now "rolling my own?" (I had shoulder length hair in those days) His eyes kind of glazed over and he lost just a fraction of his businessman/politician smile and said, "Those were good times."
No, I never voted for him before or after. I generally have a very low opinion of politicians in general although they are a necessary evil.
