Actually, that's a pretty sad story. Emotional/mental problems are so hard to deal with, so destructive. The fact that someone could have no one in his or her life to look after her well-being like that is tragic. Maybe she pushed everyone away from her. I hope she got some help. Her boyfriend too. What was going through his mind?

It is a sad story. There was a storyline on Nip/Tuck once that was pretty similar, though the woman hadn't moved from her couch in years, and they had to surgically remove her from it. It was pretty depressing, especially for such a trashy (such a guilty pleasure) show.
