Brian at Rockwood has tagged me!

So here goes...

1. Total amount of music files on your computer?
Um, zero. I used to keep music files on my computer in England, but I burned them all on to CD when I left, seeing as that computer was staying with my ex. I think I have iTunes on my computer, but I haven't bothered to keep any music on it. I imagine that this will change when I eventually get an iPod. (No, I don't own an iPod, either. I'm so ashamed.)

2. The last CD you bought was...
The Andrews Sisters Greatest Hits. Actually, this is the second time I've purchased this album. I bought it years ago, then lent it to a friend of mine in England, with whom I gradually lost touch. I mostly wanted their duets with Bing Crosby, which I heard on the soundtrack to the original Singing Detective series (not that crappy remake with Robert Downey Jr.), but the soundtrack to the BBC series is long out of print. I haven't been able to find it anywhere. So this will have to tide me over.

3. What was the last song you listened to before reading this message?
"American Idiot". I had Kevin and Bean on in the background when I check my e-mail in the morning. I think they played it several times this morning.

4. Write down five songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.
1. "Hawaii 78", Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. I first heard this at my dad's house and was struck by the beautifully haunting melody. Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono o Hawai'i...

2. "Teardrop", Portishead. I'd heard it a couple of times, but it turned up as the soundtrack in a dream I had. I rarely have dreams, but I'd never had one with a song in it. After that, I had to find out what it was.

3. "I've Got You Under My Skin", Frank Sinatra. Well, anything by Sinatra, really, but I love his version of this song.

4. "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is", Chicago. No special reason, I just love this song!

5. "Sing, Sing, Sing", by many, but especially Benny Goodman and his orchestra. I heard this song first on the Swing Kids soundtrack, and it prompted me to get into Big Band music.

5. What 3 people are you going to pass this baton onto and why?
entitymel, batosai and hooloovooo, you have been tagged officially. If anyone else wants to nick these questions, feel free!
