Lineage

Last night I got really bored and decided to look up my family history/lineage online. I found out a bunch of stuff I didn't know, especially after researching all the immigration records. Jahne, my last name, is German even though I have a feeling that the pronunciation and spelling were changed. My maternal grandmother's maiden name is Kearns, and the majority of my family that came to the states with this last name are from Ireland, with the lower percentage being from England. It's the same with Garner, my mom's maiden name. My Grandpa Garner was buried with a green candy in his pocket because he always wanted to be Irish. He died a long time ago, before the days of the internet, etc. and went to the grave never knowing that many of his ancestors came from Ireland! I already knew that my maternal grandmother's parents both came here from Calabria, Italy as Gagliardi is a very common Italian surname. I have a two week free trial on this thing, and I want to see how far back I can go. I'm more Irish than I thought, which is awesome by me!
