Laptop withdrawal

Again this Tuesday past, as with numerous Tuesdays gone, I was making my way to the office to start another day. (Last night, Sophie was reading me passages from this book she was reading and the (Old?) English was beautiful; so dignified, so formal. I attempted to start this entry in the same manner but I don't think it's a task my grammatical faculties are up to and I'm just gonna fail completely so I'll stop.)
So, I'm in the train and I try to boot up my laptop. Usual friendly Mac chimes but no display. Curious. I hold down the power button to shut it down and then I boot up again. Chimes but no display. I try again. No joy. Oh, man, don't do this to me.
I plug in a monitor to it at work to try and get an external display going. No output. A logic board issue, perhaps?
Now normally, my laptop dying wouldn't be an issue because I've got a three-year warranty but a few months ago I'd modified the case (it looks very cool; pics soon to follow) which would certainly have voided the warranty. Silly me.
Anyway, a call to a friend who works at an AppleCentre and it's getting repaired under warranty. Disaster averted.
Now the consequences of not having a laptop until Tuesday (at the latest). I have to do ALL my work on a bloody SunRay. Not really that bad but not exactly great either. I don't have any of my personal files, my browser bookmarks, my collection of RSS feeds, my GBA emulator et al, my mail, my iTunes Library (!) etc, etc.
The thing that I've come to realise; with a my laptop being a tool (my only tool) for work and uni, and a source of entertainment, I have sweet F.A. to do without it. Absolutely nothing.
I, mean, I got home on Tuesday and sat on my ass and watched TV all night. I never do that!
Curse you, Apple! Curse you!
