Soo, my best friend left for Japan for a year last week. One of my other good friends, Rachelle, leaves for Costa Rica for one month tomorrow. Another of my friends, Courtney, leaves for South Dakota for one month tomorrow. Another of my friends, my professor Anna, leaves for Russia for one month on Sunday. Everyone's leaving me!! None of them would let me stow away in their packaging either, 'cause they were afraid customs would be too high on me! *cries*

Nah, actually, I think it'll be good for me. I just had a nice, one hour phone call with Rachelle about very random stuff, and I think we may actually take a trip together later this summer.

Tonight, I had my first sev zero. Sev zero = Drop everything, including your life, and fix this now. It was kinda fun, actually, cause it had a simple work-around, I found it in 25 minutes or so from getting there (which means it includes set up time), spent another 55 minutes packaging (this was a huge database, packaging took forever), tested it, it worked, sent it out, all done. Three hours total (spent quite a bit of time trying to find Support's phone number).

Oh, and a new guy started on Wednesday. First guy hired on our team since I started (Yea, we're pretty selective). I get to mentor him, which is awesome. I love teaching, so I'm bound to love this. Oh, and I'm gonna finally get a real desk next week!

My russian studies have slacked a little. I feel like I'm still making progress, but I'm not making a lot of progress, which frustrates me. It makes me feel like I should spend more time sharpening my axe. The problem is, I'm not really sure what direction to head -- my flashcard system has worked out fairly flawlessly so far. So my original plan of developing a nice flashcard system wouldn't help that much.
