It is pronounced how it is spelled.

Well pray or arrange your runestones for me as I am attempting my first lasagna. I've been referencing web pages to make sure I am doing this correctly. I know this is such a simple task that most children will be able to navigate the recipe directions to destination "super lasagna," but glaswegian_took can vouche that while I ( Read more... )

Thank you. I might try to combine the two in the future I bet it will turn out awesome that way. I'm trying to keep things mundane for round one so glaswegian_took won't run for the hills if I mention lasagna for dinner.

"Blinding?" Since I'm not familiar with it I have to say no. Explain.

after you crack the egg into the pan and let the white turn slightly white, you splash grease on top of the egg until the skin of the yolk turns white, hence "blinding." this way when you flip the egg the yolk has less of a chance of breaking.

Yeah you can use either, ricotta or cottage cheese, or both. For the cheese mixture I usually get a separate bowl and throw in ricotta, cottage cheese, parmasean, mozzarella, an egg (for binding), and whatever herbs I want to use that day.

ugh I hate lasagna noodles, they're so difficult, I usually just use penne or something and call it a lasagna "bake". Boil them...mix them up with above cheese stuff..top with spaghetti sauce that I make..and bake. voila!

Why are lasagna noodles difficult? Well, I shouldn't criticize I can't flip an egg hardly.

I can flip an egg.

My lasagna noodles always break. I know I could fix this by cooking them al dente or a little harder, but I always forget them. Then you gotta do all that cumbersome LAYERING. See, with penne you just dump it all in and stir. hahhaha.

I'm a lazy ass.

I thought it was cottage cheese as well. However, I've always used ricotta because I thought it was lower in fat. Never really bothered to compare the two, though.
Cooking really isn't that difficult or time consuming or even expensive.

Yeah I always thought the cottage cheese sorta "cooled" the taste of the lasagna alittle bit. Especially for those of our friends that want to season the hell out of the thing.
