Veteran's day this week

Nov 06, 2005 22:01

Friday, November 11th marks the 86th anniversary of the end of the First World War and stands as the day our Nation recognizes as Veteran's Day. I encourage all of you to take the time to recognize the Veterans in your lives, and make time in your thoughts and prayers for the many that are no longer with us. It is especially important for all of us to not forget those currently serving and those deployed who may be in harms way. As the holidays approach, those that cannot be with their loved ones will experience difficulties and hardships and will need our love and support to help them through. Please take time to recognize not only our Veteran's but also the families that have given so much to support them. It doesn't take much, a letter, a phone call, a handshake, a hug, a thought, or a prayer is certainly within all of our capabilities despite our other responsibilities this week.

P.S.: Nov. 10th marks the 230th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps. To those of you that this applies: Happy Birthday, and Semper Fi.

For those of you wondering, this is not from my Uncle, it's from me. Pass it on.
