Rant about Ranting
I'm going to be mean for a minute.
EVERYONE PLEASE SHUT UP ABOUT HOW THE LAST AIRBENDER IS GOING TO FAIL AND HOW TERRIBLE THIS IS AND THAT IS.

It's really starting to piss me off.
If you want the show, go watch the show. This is not the show. Frankly, I like what we've seen of the movie being the way that it seems to be. Better than a movie that tries to copy the show directly into live action---every one would complain about how cheesy it was if that were the case! What is great in a cartoon is not necessarily great in a movie! ASJDHKASJHDKAJSD
You people are killing me with this! If Zuko's scar was bad enough IRL to get the same effect (coloring, namely) he would not have a face. At the very least, he would be lacking an eyelid. THIS IS REALISTIC AND YET KEEPS ZUKO'S ATTRACTIVENESS. I DON'T WANT MAI MACKING ON TWO-FACE GUYS.
In a non-cartoon medium, it's would be hard to keep all the hilarity AND all of the awe-inspiring action without making viewers feel like there was some kind of emotional response rollercoaster that left them thinking, "Wait, was that a comedy or an action flick?" I AM OKAY WITH THIS. I AM OKAY WITH LESS/MINIMAL SLAPSTICK. I FEEL THAT IF IT WERE PRESENT, I WOULD BE LET DOWN BECAUSE JACKSON CANNOT EXECUTE IT IN THE WAY JACK DESENA DOES AND I WOULD BE BITTER ABOUT SOKKA TRYING TO BE FUNNY AND FAILING. It's like they're keeping away from ruining things that we love in that aspect.
I respect Mike and Bryan enough to have at least a little faith in them to know that they aren't going to let the story or the characters run away just because it's a different media. They have a hand in this too. As an artist and a writer, I know I would never let someone screw over my brainchild without me knowing about it.
I'm not saying it's going to be good. I hoping that it is. But you know what? Even if there are inconsistencies between it and the show, it's going to be okay. The show will always be the better of the two because it came first. Stop acting like they're trying to make it bigger and better. It's not supposed to be a contest between medias---it's one guy, who happens to be a director/producer, paying homage to a show that he loves too. I believe that.
