“How did they bring them back?”
“Remember the Governor, from the planet where JT and Rage went to get married?”
“Sure, Rage had him put on a penal world.”
“It was a minimum security penal world, for white collar intergalactic criminals.”
“Naturally.”
“He busted out, along with some mad scientist imprisoned there, who knew how to re-animate the dead.”
Emmett nodded sympathetically. “I hate when that happens.”
I had to agree.
And it's very interesting with the whole bringing back Rage's enemies thing you're doing. I'm am very curious to see where you are going to take this. This particular passage was very funny with the plot devices used to get Rage's enemies out, so I was definitely laughing, but I can imagine how unsettled Brian might feel about Justin and Michael rehashing that stuff again.
Okay, with that out of my system, there was also much to laugh about in this chapter.
“What?”
“You miss me when I’m not there.”
Silence.
“You hate sleeping without me.”
He gave a little huff.
I lifted up on my elbow and looked at him. “You so love me. You can’t even sleep without me anymore. I’m going to give you ten blowjobs for that.”
Brian smiled.
Guh, the cuteness of that was almost too much! But teh love--and humor!
Each grid converged so slightly you practically didn’t notice it until you saw both paintings next to each other, drawing the eye to a different area in each painting. I wanted to see all four of them together so much I almost couldn’t concentrate on anything else.
Brian was staring at them, and kind of frowning. “What?”
He shook his head. “They’re great. I want them.”
“I told you, you can have first refusal on anything I paint. But I have to have them for the show. And you’ll have to buy them from Armand, I have a contract.”
“I know.” He stood there looking, and then sighed. “Justin, you need to work on these. Can’t you get an extension on the comic?”
I lovedlovedloved that whole scene in Justin's studio where they were looking at Justin's WIP. I love it when authors actually go in to some detail about Justin's art rather than mentioning it for the sake of reminding the audience for the bazillionth time that Justin is an artiste. I love Justin for having this desire to finish this thing he started, for wanting to see it finished so badly just so he can realize his creative vision. I love Brian for encouraging him and wanting to Justin push himself artistically. Just....yeah, thanks for putting in that extra detail--your audience thanks you for it.
I guess that's all I can think of...for now. This totally made my day, even if it did get rilly rilly angsty at the end. :)

I love imagining Justin's paintings.
