Even more... I don't even know what to call it.

First of all, I want to thank the people who responded to my last entry. This has been pretty insane, and the occasional 'attaboy' does me good. Unfortunately, though, the stuff I described in the last post is only a drop in the bucket of horror compared to what has been happening recently. I would have updated more often, but I hardly have time to ( Read more... )

Thanks, J. <3 He was a bit better this evening - presumably because the hospital knows we've called them on their shit and they're going to be investigated. And again, thank you so much for the support. -hugs tightly-

That is so disgusting. How can that place possibly get by with those awful conditions?

I have no idea. Though I suspect it has a lot to do with one of the things he mentioned in his diary - they shut the patients down so completely that they think they're 'just imagining it' when something horrible happens to them.

I found this through a friend so word is getting out. but to be clear what state is this taking place in? I'd like to try and dig up the relative state regulations and oversight agencies that would investigate this.

Thank you so much for your interest - for the record, we're in California. Most of the things in the post were emailed to county/state agencies, so hopefully this'll get looked into ASAP.

Oh hey! I was that little girl many years ago. 12 years of my life wasted because my parents decided too early that I was an Unsolvable Problem and needed a diagnosis and a good doping to stay under control. To this day they can't tell me what I did wrong besides cry a lot and do my homework really slowly.

Thank you for writing this all out. I hope it gets a lot of attention. People need to know. I'm dismayed but not surprised that conditions still haven't improved much. I hope, at least, they don't still put young teens in smoking wards.

(Forgive me though for not helping spread the word. This comment may sound casual, but in truth I can't talk about it much.)

Don't worry about not re-posting, I absolutely understand.

And god, that's so terrible. To think things haven't changed, either. Progress inches its way forward everywhere else, but mental health is still a sea of bullshit where everyone from people with serious health issues who really do need medicine, to someone who just needs someone to talk to, to kids who cry are all lumped together under the heading of "less than people".

Thanks for the comment, and for sharing. This really does need to get out there.
