I thought we had this discussion before. You're making presumptions without having *all* of the information. In this case, it's virtually impossible to predict where things are going because I've only shared one scene, which does not a story make.
1) T'Pol, like Spock, is viewing Vulcan society based on her own perceptions of reality. Just because she thinks like this, doesn't make it true.
2) If you read Upheaval and determined that I was glorifying humans and human nature, then there is definitely a disconnect somewhere. Gathright wasn't created to merely abuse Nyota and Spock. He served a much larger purpose and will do so in the future.
3) You don't know me and you don't know my experiences. Even if a million other authors took the Vulcan-bashing route, you don't know where *I* would have taken the characters.
4) You also have no idea what *I* think about Spock's actions during the movie, especially as it pertains to the childhood fight and his experiences at the VSA.
5) The world isn't divided into "those like me and those unlike me." It's far more complicated than that. Ultimately, I deleted this scene because it did not enhance the final version of Upheaval.
6) It is better not to call an author out in a quasi-public forum because you'll never know how the person will react. Frustrations are best aired in private messages.
I wish you the best in getting through whatever it is. Unquestionably, you're always going to read something that displeases you. It can't be helped, but as they say, "You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."
