Vinegar Tom
i auditioned for Caryl Churchill's Vinegar Tom this weekend, a play about witch trials in England. oddly enough, with my "witch-like" red hair, i got cast as Goody - one of the witch hunters. i also am singing at least two of the 1950s style songs, which should be fun considering i was in a 1950s style musical back in 1997! i haven't done a straight Western play in a long time, so this should be a great experience for me. it will rehearse over the summer and be done in the first couple weeks of school so it won't conflict with the jingju either.
tomorrow i am re-staging my Tell-Tale Heart scene for the camera, meeting with my boss & co-workers to talk about next season, practicing for a jingju final, and then we'll see if i get to see my friend Q before i take off for the mainland. i am leaving Wednesday evening to fly to Massachusetts, then visiting Connecticut and North Carolina. if i don't see him, it's his loss. i already have another very smart and witty guy chatting me up so we'll just see how the chips fall.
now back to editing Amin's 20 page paper! he's not a native speaker so it's mainly tense and pronoun mistakes.
