part 2: wonderful weekend (:

Jul 20, 2009 22:42

yups.. i m back from dinner and tv.

and so, on friday, i went home and waited for sweetie to come before we ate dinner at my house together (it's a friday ritual. haha).. and then we watched tv before he went to play some game while i fell asleep after the tired day of work. quite a typical friday.
he attempted unsucessfully to wake me up at ten plus and then twelve plus, because i told him that i needed to pack my bag. but lazy me just slept all the way till sox plus in the morning.

so at six plus, i woke up and started packing my weekend bag.

because we were going to batam for spa and resort staying! so after all that morning rush of packing and showering, we took a cab down to habourfront centre to get breakfast and to catch the ferry. quite a short journey, and then we reached batam waterfront city ferry terminal. :)
got onto the free shuttle provided by the resort, and in 3 to 5 mins, we arrived at harris resort.

initially, we wanted to go to bintan, for the lovely beaches and all. but because our trip was really impromptu, the agency recommended batam instead, as both ferry and hotel can be booked together, and hence we will not risk any cancellation charges. i was quite reluctant to go to batam, as i know that there isnt much to do there. but desperate to get out of the city, i agreed. and i guess it is really a blessing in disguise.

prior to the trip, i have emailed the resort to inform them that we are celebrating our 27th month 'anniversary', and hence i requested for some arrangements, such as romantic settings and all. they did not reply me, but they called me while i was on the ferry to confirm my requests. so nice. what a great start. :)

and so, we checked in... it was only like ten plus indon time but they still allowed us to check in early! :) went the the new wing of the resort (it just opened in june), and to our lovely room. and tada! the room is beautiful, with floral arrangements on the bed and fruits, cookies and chocs awaiting us. and the aircon is already on, so are the lights, which are adjusted to a romantic setting. we explored the room.
nice big bed, clean linen and all, nice lcd tv, clean and nice toilet and shower. yay! cleaniness is always my top priority at resorts and hotels, and this place is great!

one small disappointment is the lack of a bathtub, but i guess the rainforest-styled shower makes it up.

since it was still early, we rested in the room, before ordering room service for lunch. baby also went to asked for our complimentary pizza to be delivered to our room. lunch was great, and the pizza is the traditional wood-fire kind... i liked it, though baby thinks that pizza hut bready kind is better. haha. then we watched tv and baby fell asleep while watching nat geo.

woke up in the late afternoon and we went for a swim at the big pool. quite nice, though would be better if its sunnier! haha... i also lounged by the sunbeds.... hahaha.. i liked their sunbeds and decks... very different and very comfy.. lotsa choices too! and then after that, we went back for a shower and then went for dinner.

dinner was quiet. its a candlelight dinner by the sea. we sat in some deck that overlooks the sea. its beautiful. and there were only 2 other couples. so its really quiet and romantic. :) i ate grilled crayfish while he had mixed grill. all were delicious.

after dinner, we walked around the place and discovered that most of the people are in the cafe eating bbq food instead, with a live band (saxaphone!) playing... no wonder its so quiet by the grill place. haha... walked around, and then went back to our room. needless to say, i fell asleep again while watching harry potter.

in the morning, we woke up early and had breakfast the cafe (complimentary, buffet).. it was good, though the selection is small. after breakfast, we rested and then went for our spa session. its a 3-hr long spa, with scrub, massage and bath. hard to describe everything, but it felt great. but really exposed. hahaha. good experience which i would definitely go back to again! the bubble bath (healing aromatheraphy) at the end was the best.

after spa, we packed and proceeded to check-out. they granted us late check-out by the way. hahahaha. :) but at the counter, they told us that our ferry tickets are not ready yet, and asked us to wait for a while more. so we went for lunch at the cafe again.... halfway throughout lunch, the surprise came. a handful of their staff came over bearing a cake with icecream.... and they sang an anniversary song for us... baby and i were embarrassed by the attention, but it was really sweet of them! haha.. actually i sorta know this will happen, cuz i planned it... hahaha... (did my homework)... but still, with people looking, i think i sorta turned red. hahaha... they tied our hands together and asked baby to feed me cake using his mouth. hahahaha..... we got to blow the candle and make wishes too... really sweet... hahaha... and the cake is once again, complimentary! after lunch, we took the ferry home. baby insisted that they didnt let us check out earlier on cuz they wanted to surprise us. hahaha.

i really loved the resort. its perfect for a weekend stay. the staff there are all friendly and the place is relaxing. would def consider going there again! :) we took home the extra slippers they gave us too! (they have unique orange flip flops which many ppl wear in the resort...)

so after reaching sg, we walked around vivocity and then ate dinner at sushi tei. yum yum. after that, we watched harry potter at gv max! whee.... i planned that for baby as well, booking tickets online on wed... :) i m such a great gf... hahaha... he loves harry potter...

and after dinner, he sent me home, collected his stuff and then went home.... its like midnight.

what an enjoyable weekend and memorable 27th month! :)

pictures to be continued, cam with baby.
