Final Fire Update
Aaaaand we're back.
The fire was as of 3:40 PM this afternoon, 40% contained. The big bad blaze was stopped at Tonner Canyon Road, which was around 5 miles away from my house and I think a mile or so within the border of the city limit. The Country (that's the rich folks' homes that include Snoop Dogg's house, one of many I'm sure) was allowing residents to return since this afternoon. The DBHS evac center's closed up and school resumes tomorrow.
I drove back home just a few minutes ago from a friend's out in the OC, so I didn't get to see anything, but maybe tomorrow I'll go out and have a look around. Maybe.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and encouragement during this time of crisis.
And my heartfelt thanks to the firefighters, police, emergency personnel, volunteers and everybody else who totally saved our asses.
Maybe Snoop'll do something real cool for you guys like a tribute song. That'd be friggin' awesome.
