I was watching the TV with my dad last night when he commented that there are a lot of slimming centres advertisements nowadays. Thinking about it, it's quite true. If you notice, almost one-thirds of the advertisements are for slimming purposes. The gimmicks they use to make people notice them are things like '$8.90 for a one-time appointment. National day promotion.' Come on, it's like you will need more than one-time treatment if you really want to get results. So those bobo-brains who believe the adverts will go receive treatment and after the payment of $8.90 for an one-time treatment, they will get the real amount they need to pay to slim down.

This is an indication that the times have changed. In the past when people wanted to slim down, since when did they consult help from slimming centres? The only way to slim down in the past was to keep to a strict diet and of course, exercise. People nowadays are too spoilt and pampered because there will be an easy way out for everything. Instead of using the traditional way to slim down, they prefer unorthodox ways like laser treatment in slimming centres, diet pills and diet cream. Mind you, all these ways are not easily affordable by everyone. Treatment in slimming centres will require you to go back for follow-up appointments which also cost money, diet pills and cream have sky-high prices for just a small bottle or tube of it. And the best part is that people are willing to spend the money.

Maybe if I decide to set up my own business, I can consider opening a slimming centre, keeping in mind that I have such a willing market out there. :)

P.S Actually, I'm just plain jealous of the rich. The only way for me to slim down is via munching apples for the whole day... Poor me!!!
