We used to send Chinese new year greetings by calling friends and relatives before the creation and wide use of cell phone. But in recent years, short messages take stage and act as the number one communication means to extend our wishes.
SMS is really popular this year. I find some papers set up a speical column to display the most popular sms being voted by readers. I didn't watch the annual spring festival evening much, instead i busied myself receiving and sending sms to friends, relatives and coworkers. One message was sent to one of my senior coworkers and i remembered I didn't receive his reply. On the first working day after the break, i run into him and i asked about this little incident. He was really nice and said sorry for the omission. It's not a big deal, really. i just want him to know my wishes for him in the new year.
The coworker is very talented. He is good at singing modern Beijing Opera, beautiful classic and popular songs, dancing and creating riddles to let us guess. He always brings laughter to us when we had activites.
Last night,i received one message. I didn't think it was from the respectable workmate in the slightest. He made a poem for me to express his wishes and make up for his omission as well. Wow, i was so impressed and enjoyed the poem very much.
Thank you, leader Chen. I appreciate your big kind gesture very much.
Here is the beautiful chinese poem《闹元宵》:
丁亥新年好热闹,除夕贺信涌心潮。
应接不暇有疏忽,万花丛中落小超。
喜庆十五团圆日,祝福甜蜜闹元宵。
chinese new year greetings,
