Yesterday marks the day of National Second Hand Embarrassment, although some will say otherwise.
In
São Paulo (the largest, most populated city of the country) they've (see they = Board of Aldermen) just created the Straight Pride Day.
Yes, you've read that right. Straight Pride Day.
Now, I consider myself straight (bi-curious maybe) when it comes to preferences, although I am an an asexual (being one does not excludes the other). But just because of that, does not mean I want to go out there saying I'm proud of liking men or something.
Straight people do not suffer from prejudice, or are targeted by crazy, fanatic, religious people. They are not murdered because they're straight, they are not rejected by people or companies because they're straight. And they most certainly can hold hands and kiss in public without everyone else staring at them.
Right now I'm feeling a mix of anger and embarrassment. Because, really, this country is getting more and more ridiculous as the days go by.
Obviously the subject reached the
Trending Topics and most people think the same as me.
