Content: Soran is going to launch a probe to destroy the sun and change the path of the energy ribbon so he can return to the Nexus. Only the staff can stop him!

OUTSIDE THE FORCEFIELD

[ Want to make any last ditch attempts to throw yourself at the forcefield, or talk Soran out of it? Be his guest. He wont stop you. Mostly because he knows you wont get anywhere, not now at any rate. ]

Couldn't you have just said John or George?

[ Doesn't even look up from his console. You are so far beyond his interest right now. ]

Mr Jane, wasn't it? You must think me quite the mad man.

Just a homicidal monomaniac.

[ Oh, that earns you an amused glance at least. ]

I assume you've come to dissuade me from my horrific plan?

As I happen to be fond of this planet and life upon it, yes.

[toliansoran]

[ He looks down at his control panel and smiles to himself a little, then purses his lips and makes his way down off the launchpad until his standing just the other side of the forcefield facing Jane, studies him curiously. ]

You know, there was a time when I wouldn't have hurt a fly. Then my family were murdered. My wife Leandra, my children... If there is one constant in this universe, Mr Jane, it is death.

[ He pauses. ]

I know you understand. We're all going to die, it's only a question of how and when.

When my family were murdered, I learned to accept it. It wasn't easy, but you have to know when they're gone. Destroying all of us won't change that.

[toliansoran]

What if I told you that wasn't true?

[ He smiles enigmatically, then makes his way back up onto the platform -- raises his voice enough that it still easily carries but stays at a conversational pitch. ]

In the nexus, time has no meaning.

It's not reality. You should really learn to go through the five stages.

[toliansoran]

[ He laughs quietly to himself. Really? ]

You wouldn't give everything for another chance at life with your family? I find that hard to believe.

[ Finishes with the control panel he was standing in front of, then tugs out a remote and wanders across to his probe -- ]

Now, if you'll excuse me, I am rather busy.

Giving everything of my own, maybe. But not an entire world.

Soran, stop. This isn't about us. It's about you. Think about what you're doing. Billions of people, just so you can exist in a fantasy.

[From somewhere behind Jane there's rather abruptly an angry-sounding growl. Chewie's inclined to agree with Jane, and he's got no qualms about shooting first and asking questions later.]
