"Howd'ja know that's what I brought for us as a snack?"
If Lottie turned towards the doorway of the rec room, she would have seen an amused Tiana carrying a plastic container filled with--of course--cheese and crackers.
She had just come from the kitchen, and figured that girl talk wouldn't be girl talk without something to nibble on between exchanging juicy tidbits of gossip. Chocolate would have been a better choice, but for some inexplicable reason she just couldn't find any. Cheese and crackers would have to do for now.
Whirling around to see Tiana, her whole face lit up and she grinned broadly. That girl was always on top of everything; it figures that she would bring snacks for the two of them while they talked. Lottie rushed forward and gave Tiana a tight squeeze before dragging her over to sit down to talk.
“Didn’t I tell ya? I’m also telepathic!” she said with a wink, “Alright Tia, I want to hear EVERYTHING. Don’t leave anything out, because you know I can weasel it outta ya, easy as pie.”
Crossing her legs, she leaned forward and propped her elbows on her knees, resting her chin on her fists, staring expectantly. Lottie would be all ears for as long as Tiana was relating the previous night’s events. Of course, Lottie believed in equivalent exchange. For every juicy detail Tia spilled, she would have one to share afterwards.
Tiana barely had the time to hug Lottie back before being dragged over to the couch. Luckily she was used to this. Everything Lottie did was usually fast-paced and full of energy.
"Alright, alright. I'll tell you everythin'. I'd rather not have you sneakin' 'round my mind with those telepathy powers of yours."
She smoothed out the fabric of her skirt and leaned back in the chair, making herself comfortable. After all covering all the details of what happened at the dance would take some time.
"Well," she started slowly, "I went to the dance expectin' nothin' interestin' to happen. And before you ask, Lottie, no, I didn't go with Sanji. I arrived alone." A small, somewhat bashful smile appeared on her face. "I didn't stay alone for long though. Sanji asked to dance, and well we danced together. It was real nice."
Cerulean eyes bigger than dinner plates, she listened on eagerly. She had felt bad that she hadn't come to the dance with Tia, but she had become so focused on her date with chopper, she hadn't even thought of it until after the fact. There was also the fact that she was counting on Sanji to be there with her, so when Tia said she had arrived alone, she was a little more than astonished.
Of course she had her mind set at ease once Tiana finished her sentence. Admittedly she was a little peeved at Sanji for not escorting her in the first place, but at least he had danced with her.
"Was it now?" she asked with a grin, "Is there more?"
