X-gene talkings and sharing historycodebook January 9 2011, 04:55:56 UTC
[Roll has been called by one or both of the staff members. Time to do a little talking because Charles Xavier says so.]

[What's your mutation? What are some benefits? What are some drawbacks? What's an experience you've had with your mutation?]

[These questions are visible somehow in the room, so the students (and staff) have prompts.]

[ darn that professor Xavier, right? well, Fuu seems to enjoy talks about this sort of thing, so. ]

I can manipulate wind. I haven't learned how to control it completely yet, but that's why I'm here, hm?

"Manipulate wind"? Do you need the day to be windy already for your mutation to work?

[Someone is trying to make conversations about this topic they have to do. =T]

Hn ... You know, I've never tested that out for myself. Usually when I use my abilities, there is at least some wind.

I do know that I am able to both heal and use my abilities for offense, though. I haven't had to use it against an opponent yet, but it will definitely come in handy should an opportunity arise.

You almost sound like a video game character with those skills.

Yes, it does sound like something out of an RPG, doesn't it?

[straining for keeping the conversation alive, why is this thing so hard?]

Next thing you know you'll be forming a party with a fire and a water mutant.

[for one who doesn't really play games, he has sure started to talk more about them]

[ giggling so hard at that. ]

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, actually. My friend can manipulate water, and her boyfriend can manipulate water, wind, fire, and earth.

[elemental parties, common in any media =|b]

Well, there you go. You'll be able to handle anything that comes at you.

I'm capable of hypnosis and mind control. It works on people and animals so I have to be very careful to use it responsibly.

I came here before Xavier Institute was open to the public when my powers first developed. I live in New York and I...ah. I got really into singing a song I liked and then everyone joined in. It was like a super well co-ordinated impromptu musical performance, complete with dancing.

That's... kind of neat actually. It's like an event.

[Reki, quit comparing things to the World...]

An event? Well, I guess it was. There was a lot of people. I can affect crowds and it used to happen by accident a lot more often when I first got them.

It's... [realizes what he did] Never mind.

So, you've gotten a better handle on your powers it seems.

It took years of practice, but yes. I've got much better control over them. It's not perfect yet, but even if I get caught up in something and lose focus, it's not as out of control as before.

[Okay Reki, think of something facilitator-like to keep these talks going...]

[It's part of this job, isn't it?]

Er... are there any tips or advice you'd like to share for anyone trying to improve their skills with their mutation?

[... That was as bad as one of Balmung's events.]

Um...

[It makes Giselle pause and try to think of something]

Well, the most important thing is not to give up. And congratulate yourself when you do make progress, no matter how far away you might be from your goals. Everyone's mutation is different, but nobody's control is perfect at first.
