Characters: Kaito and Kakashi Location: Kaito's room. Time: Sometime at night. Content: Kaito is preparing for a trip and Kakashi interrupts him. Format: Action. Warnings: None that I can think of.
[Kaito's abrupt notice on the school's network had gotten Kakashi's attention, and he was quick to check around to see if Kaito left. He went to his office first. Upon finding the note left on the desk, it wasn't hard to guess what was going on. Kakashi had to intercept him before Kaito did something that he'd regret. He made a run for Kaito's room. If he was lucky, Kaito wouldn't be gone just yet. Tracking him would be possible but considerably more of a pain once he got off campus]
[See that look on Kaito's face? It's annoyance. Extreme annoyance.]
You don't have any reason to be concerned. [He adjusted the duffel bag on his shoulder, it was pretty heavy] I'm about to give that man better than he deserves. [And now he tries to walk past Kakashi]
I'm only telling you this once, Kakashi. [He takes his Tranq gun out of its holster. He figured something like this might happen. Not with Kakashi. But a Telepath and or an Empath]
[The key to evading bullets, or in this case, tranquilizers, is not to be faster than the gun, but to be faster than the trigger finger of the person with the gun. Kakashi side-steps to sieze the wrist of the hand holding the gun, bending it backward in a fluid motion.]
I didn't say that they didn't. I said this isn't the way to do it.
Vengeance and justice aren't the same thing.
[There's a small sigh, as Kakashi keeps a very close eye on Kaito] I'll help you get the justice your parents deserve. What I won't help you do is murder someone in cold blood.
[He winced a little as Kakashi bent his wrist back, but then he glared at him. Kaito knew what he was saying was true, but when you are seeing red, you don't exactly listen to reason. He quickly reached out with his free hand and tried to wrench Kakashi's hand off of him]
[Kakashi pressed harder on the wrist lock and bent Kaito's arm in such a way that his best bet to avoiding pain would be to drop to his knees]
You're doing this for your parents, Kaito, but do you really think they would want their son to become a murderer? Don't dishonor their memory like that. If you want this man caught, I will help you. But I'm not going to let you throw away everything you've worked for.
[He groans and drops down to his knees. He's glaring up at you now, Kakashi.]
My parents lost their lives to this man! It's only right that he loses his too! [And now he is activating his mutant ability and increasing his own strength to try to power out of Kakashi's lock]
[Kakashi's glad he uncovered his eye when he did. Although he's able to consciously copy skills with his undamaged eye, the damaged red one will catch everything. He can't selectively imprint with this eye, but its hypersensitivity to motion has its uses. The slight shift in motion as Kaito powers up is an adequate warning. However, Kakashi knows very well that with the emotional state Kaito's in, letting go of him is a terrible idea right now.
Instead, he increases the force applied in the lock. Increase in strength or not, Kakashi understands how body mechanics work. The joints are the most fragile points of the body, and pressure on them hurts. He also reaches down and applies pressure to a pressure point on Kaito's neck]
Right now, you're blinded by your rage, and your desire for revenge.
[His words might set in a little better if Kaito wasn't in so much pain right now. Or he'd just ignore them like he was doing at this very moment]
Fucking let me go right now, Kakashi! [He was getting dangerously close to using the part of his mutant ability to halts to the movements of others and freezes them in place.]

[Although it's phrased as a question, the tone indicates that Kakashi knows exactly what's going on here]

And if I am? I don't see how it concerns you.

It concerns me when a friend is about to do something he might seriously regret, Kaito.

This isn't the same as killing in the line of duty, and you know it. You're better than this.

Move.

[He uncovers his red eye. He knows he'll need it to be prepared for anything rash Kaito might do]
I get wanting to settle things, but this isn't the way to do it.
