"Neru?"

Gaku almost didn't recognize her. Not only was Neru almost never around the institute at all, which made this appearance especially rare, she was dressed in...

God what WAS that?!

Neru grit her teeth, and turned around to face Gaku.

"Hi, nancy boy," she groaned.

Well that was... an expected response.

"Any reason you're skulking around the dormitories? I thought you lived with Haku."

[mutant_troll]

"Maybe I wanted to study the loser in its natural habitat?" Neru replied with a shrug. "But if you want me gone, I'll go..."

[zerosamurai]

"I'm not saying 'leave', Neru, I'm just making sure there isn't any trouble. That is my job after all."

[mutant_troll]

"Hmph," she said, before sighing. "Look, maybe you can help me out. There's paperwork saying I have a room here. I don't need to tell you why this is wrong, right?"

"Was Haku-nee the one who registered you?" Gaku asked curiously, rubbing his chin a little in thought. He knew she wasn't the first student to live off campus, so why give her a room?

[mutant_troll]

"I sure as heck didn't," said Neru. "So why don't you just get it taken off or something?"

[zerosamurai]

Huff.

"I'm a security officer, Neru, not administration. I can suggest it but that's about all I can do."

[mutant_troll]

"Fine then."

She sighed, unaware her empathic abilities were activating again. "Sorry I don't just instantly know what your job is."

[zerosamurai]

Gaku could feel his irritation rising, but unlike most people Neru dealt with, he was emotionally grounded enough to control it and keep it in check. He didn't know it was coming from Neru (he'd never known that, in fact) but a deep breath was all it took for him to offer up a small, calm smile.

"It's okay. You haven't been here very long. I'll see what I can do, okay?"

"... Yeah, sure, whatever," said Neru. "And in return I may actually go to classes."

"I'm not going to hope for miracles, Neru," Gaku shot back, teasing lightly.

Neru responded by giving him a light punch in the arm.
