Temari walked down the hallways, trying to learn her way around so she wouldn't get lost. She stopped suddenly when she smelt the coffee, following the smell she came to a teacher office.

She peeked inside the open door, and quickly came to the conclusion this wasn't a normal teacher's office. It looked more like a cafe than an office.

She noticed the art like creatures flitting around the room, then she saw him. She hadn't met this teacher before, but he had an interesting look about him.

"Welcome." Sanae grinned at the student--one he hadn't seen much of before. "What can I get you this lovely morn?" She seemed a little leery of his creations, so he had them settle down a bit, hoping not to frighten her away.

Still, a raven perched on the back of one of the chairs nearest her and clicked its beak at her, settling its wings back.

"Could I get a coffee? Black, if it's not too much trouble." She'd never been one to sweeten her coffee, it just didn't have the same effect as straight coffee. She took a few steps inside the office, settling on the couch.

She was curious about the strange creatures in the room, she'd never seen anything like them before.

"Coming right up," Sanae held up a cup for a mink that filled it efficiently and carefully flew it over to the girl. "Been here long? I think I've seen you around, but you can never be sure with all the shape-shifters, about." He chuckled.

As a mink left the cup on the table nearest her, the raven hopped closer, expressing the curiosity Sanae himself was keeping behind a mild smile.

Temari reached forward taking the coffee from the table. "I've been here about a month I suppose. I mostly keep to myself though." She kept looking back to the raven, unable to concentrate when she was being stared at by an unknown creature.

"If I may ask...What is that?" She pointed to the raven, just wanting to know if she should be worried about making sudden movements. She'd always been told growing up that if you encounter a strange animal not to provoke it. Though she also did not want to upset the teacher if it was his pet.

The artist smiled kindly, "That's no good, you have to get out there and live each moment, yanno." He glanced over at the raven, which was tilting its tattoo-like head back and forth in a mimicry of a true bird's movements.

"Oh, that's just my power. They're paintings I brought to life. Quite harmless. If they bother you I can put them away for now." He offered, opening his sketch book to show her another raven, same as the one peering at her, on the sheet of paper.

She looked into his smiling face and felt a little more relaxed. "They're fine, I was just wondering." She watched the raven for a few minutes, before returning her attention to the teacher.

She looked down into her coffee "I try to get out, but...I'm not very social. I don't exactly know how to act around people my own age. Either I blend into the background or am unintentionally rude." She'd led a semi-private life at home, only getting out to go to school and then going home. It was very different living at the school, there were students everywhere and she couldn't even get away from them by going to her room.

The raven, if she didn't swat at it, was going to nip at her pigtails. It wasn't trying to hurt her, but it seemed all of his art-creatures had a thing about gnawing on people's hair. Seriously what was up with his subconscious, he wondered.

Sanae leaned over the makeshift countertop, "A lot of the time, it's about, first, getting out there. If you don't take that first step, you'll never go anywhere on your journey." He counted off on his fingers, "Second, if you fall off the horse, you have to get back up. If you accidentally insult someone, don't hide under your bed and hope it goes away. Say you're sorry and explain things the best you can." He counted off another finger, "And third, you just gotta find the people who can see you for who you are."

Temari let the raven nip at her hair, for some reason it didn't bother her. "Curious little thing, aren't you?" She chuckled to herself, knowing if her brothers had been here they'd already be attempting to hit the birds.

She let what the teacher said sink in. "I suppose I could try that." She shrugged "It would be nice to have at least one friend. I know it won't be easy...but I suppose if it was easy, it wouldn't be worth it." She let a small smile grace her features. Maybe it was a good thing she was exploring today.

The raven clicked its beak at her in place of the normal noises birds made. If people were to try to hit them, they'd probably just fly out of reach.

The Japanese man smiled. It wasn't easy to open yourself up, especially when you were in a new place and surrounded by people who were so different. "You've got to open up to other people before you can be invited into their worlds."

Temari looked back at he raven when it started clicking at her, for some reason it amused her. There had always been birds near her house...though they were vultures.

She nodded as she pulled her wallet out of pants. "I suppose that's true. Say, I don't think I caught your name." She should have checked to see if it was on the door before she came in.

Well this raven was no vulture, it was just being friendly and curious. And as it couldn't make real bird sounds, it clicked its beak again.

"You can call me Mr H, my full name's quite a mouthful. What's yours?" Sanae nodded to the small chalk board he'd set up with the prices. Cup of coffee--two bucks. People always complained about his prices being too high, but really when you get a hand out of advice with every cup, or just a shoulder to cry on, Sanae didn't see what was so pricey.

She looked surprised she would be able to call a teacher by something so casual. "Hmm? Oh, my names Temari." The prices may have been high, but for the advice she'd received it was worth it.

She stood up, setting two dollars and her cup on the table. "Is it alright if I come back sometime?" She felt so relaxed here, she would love to come back sometime.

Sanae smiled warmly, used to the informal airs of a cafe. He nodded at her name but would probably use it rarely, considering his liking of nicknames.

"Sure, I don't see why not. Unless you develop an allergy to coffee, of course." Chuckling, the artist took the money from a different raven who also tossed the cup away.
