Initially Harry had reluctantly been ready to sit this particular adventure out on the sidelines. While he wasn't happy about the idea, the fact of the matter was that trying to stick Harry inside a highly advanced and experimental time machine was the equivalent of shoving a fire cracker in a tank of gas, only with the added bonus of risking damaging the fabric of space and time itself. Some things were too risky even for Harry.

Too risky, that is, until he'd been handed a letter by Karrin that had changed everything. It had been months since Elaine had been taken, and his subsequent rescue attempt had led to the discovery that she had betrayed him again. While he'd gotten very good at covering up how badly the second betrayal of the only woman he'd ever admitted to loving had shattered him, the truth was he was still aching on the inside every day. Now he'd been handed a chance to make things right, to find her and bring her home, and maybe really figure out what had driven her to sign on with a bastard like Wesker. This was his chance to get his family back.

Fuck the fabric of space and time, he had to save Elaine.

Luckily, Rikku, angel of mercy that she was, had unknowingly provided Harry with just the solution of how to get back in time without stranding or killing himself. Having been taken to a few of the dragon gettogethers, he'd been passingly familiar with the dragon Ruth and his very special ability. It had not taken long to track the dragon down, and pleading his case he'd managed to secure Ruth's help. Now, geared up and ready to go, he stood outside the mansion, facing the large white dragon with his pack and shotgun over his back, and staff in hand, which combined with his leather duster gave him the look almost like a wizard of legend, about to set off on a quest. Not that wizards were usually wearing body armor, but hey, sometimes a legend needed updating.

"Alright, is there anything else I need to know before we do this?"
